I finally stopped preheating my air fryer and got better results

Everyone always says you gotta preheat your air fryer for crispy food, but I noticed my chicken thighs were coming out dry on the outside and undercooked inside. So I tried tossing them in straight from the fridge into a cold basket and setting it to 375 for 18 minutes. They came out juicy with a perfect crispy skin, no flipping needed. Has anyone else ditched the preheat step or am I just lucky with my particular model?

Ditch the preheat for anything with skin or a decent fat content. I do the same with my pork shoulder and it comes out way more tender.

12 hours in a cold oven with @riverknight's trick and my pork shoulder fell apart like it owed me money.
