DAE think air fryer chicken wings are overrated?
I was at a friend's cookout in Austin last weekend, and everyone was raving about the air fryer wings. They were fine, but honestly? My oven-baked ones have way better skin. The air fryer batch just came out kinda dry and the skin wasn't as crispy as everyone claims. I followed a popular recipe to a T, cooked them at 400 for 20 minutes, flipping halfway. Maybe it's my model, but I've tried this three times now with different sauces and the texture is never quite right. It feels like everyone just says they're amazing because it's the trendy thing. Has anyone else had this happen and found a trick to actually get that perfect crunch?

Right, because apparently the secret to good wings isn't the sauce, it's chemistry class. Guess I'll be over here in the corner apologizing to my baked chicken for years of neglect.

Yeah, the hype is real but the skin can be so hit or miss. Did you try patting the wings super dry and tossing them in a little baking powder (not soda) before you air fried them? That little bit of cornstarch in the powder makes a huge difference for me.
