Can we talk about hitting 500 air fryer meals without burning anything

I hit 500 meals cooked in my air fryer last Tuesday and honestly it surprised me how much the number mattered. I kept a simple tally on my fridge calendar for the last 18 months and I thought I would have failed way more times. But looking back, the milestone that really hit me was that I only burned food 12 times out of those 500 tries. Most of those burns happened in the first 50 meals when I was still learning heat settings. I always thought the popular opinion was that air fryers burn everything easily but my experience shows the opposite. I actually got better results after I stopped following recipes exactly and started checking food at the halfway mark. Has anyone else tracked their success rate over a long period like this?

Hey I remember reading somewhere that someone tracked their air fryer fails too and they had a way worse burn rate, like almost 1 in 10 at first. Only 12 out of 500 is wild, I feel like that's a solid flex for sure lol. The halfway check thing is smart, I started doing that with fries and they come out way more even now instead of half raw half crispy. Maybe those early recipe instructions are just too generic for how different each air fryer runs.

lmao yeah the 12 out of 500 stat surprised me too, but I think a lot of it comes down to how long you've been using it. I started keeping a little notes file on my phone for each thing I cook, writing down the temp and time that actually worked. So like for chicken wings I do 380 for 18 mins with a shake at 9 mins, but for frozen fries I gotta do 400 for 12 mins and flip them at 6. It's annoying at first but once you find your groove it's wayyy more consistent than guessing from generic recipes.

Wait did you track if the 12 burns were mostly from specific foods or was it more about forgetting to set a timer and getting distracted? Because I feel like my air fryer fails are almost always my own fault not the machine's.
