Burnt my garlic toast 5 times before I got it right

I kept setting my air fryer to 400F for garlic bread and it came out black on the edges but soft in the middle. After ruining a whole loaf of sourdough, my neighbor told me to drop the temp to 350F and flip it halfway through. Has anyone else had to adjust times for something as simple as toast?

Your neighbor gave you good advice but I actually have the opposite problem. 350F in my air fryer leaves the bread soggy and the butter never really browns. I crank mine up to 400F but I only leave it in for like 3 minutes flat, flipping it after two. The key is watching it like a hawk instead of walking away. Different air fryers run hot and cold so you really have to test yours on its own.

@aaron197 I see your point but 400F for 3 minutes just doesn't work in my machine. My air fryer burns the top before the middle gets hot so I stick to 350F and give it a good 6 minutes with a flip.
