Spent $150 on a full demolition kit from that old mall's hardware store before they closed, and it saved my butt when I had to cut through 3 layers of tile last Sunday.

I was gonna buy cheap tools online but that old guy working there convinced me to get the good pry bars and a carbide blade, now I'm wondering if anyone else has grabbed gear from closing mall stores that turned out way better than expected.

Hell yeah, same thing happened to me. That old hardware store in the Westside mall had the real deal stuff. Grabbed a wrecking bar and a demo screwdriver set for like $60 and it's outlasted every big box store thing I've owned.

@robinwalker see I gotta disagree a little. I grabbed some tools from that Westside store too and honestly that demo screwdriver set broke on me after like three uses. The handle cracked right off. Maybe I got a bad batch or something but my Stanley set from Lowe's has held up way better over the years. Not saying the old hardware store stuff is all bad, just that I think sometimes people remember things being tougher than they actually were lol.
