Someone told me my mall photos looked like crime scene evidence
A photography guy on Flickr said I was framing everything too wide and flat, like I was documenting a police report instead of telling a story. Started zooming in on details like cracked tile edges and old food court menu boards and now my shots actually feel like the place has a mood instead of just sitting there empty. Anyone else get feedback that totally shifted how you see your own shots?

Friend got told his photos looked like real estate listings and it wrecked his whole style for a month.

Nah, I kinda see the value in that critique honestly. Real estate photography is all about clean lines, good lighting, and making spaces look their best. Maybe your friend's style was getting too messy or cluttered and that comment gave him a push to clean things up and focus on composition. I mean, if your photos look like listings, that means they're sharp, well-lit, and clear that's not the worst thing in the world. Sometimes a harsh comment like that is actually useful feedback in disguise.
