Old security guard's advice changed my mall exploration approach

Guy named Frank at Northpark Mall told me to stop taking photos of the dead plants and empty stores. Said focus on the architectural details, the tile work, the old fountain basins that are dried up. Started doing that and my shots actually tell a story now instead of just looking depressing. Anyone else get feedback that shifted how you document these places?

Frank is right. Dead plants are just sad, but tile work shows why they built the place in the first place. Focusing on the good stuff makes the decay hit harder.

Wait, hold on. Are you saying you like the dead plants? Because that is a wild take I did not see coming, honestly.

Pat Perry, I gotta question if this is really that serious. It's a building with some old tile and some dead plants. Plus, you can appreciate the craftsmanship without turning it into a whole statement about decay and human nature. It's just a place that got left behind. Not everything has to be this deep, profound thing. Sometimes a dead plant is just a dead plant.
