My buddy said the dead mall near us is sad but I told him it's actually peaceful

We were standing in the food court at Granite Run last weekend, and he kept going on about how depressing it is. I told him I actually like the quiet and the way the light comes through those old skylights, and he looked at me like I was crazy. Anyone else prefer the calm over the creepy vibe people always talk about?

Granite Run is basically a ghost town now, right?

The food court at Granite Run is just an empty space with some tables. It's not that deep. People act like an abandoned mall is some profound emotional experience when really it's just a building that lost its tenants. You can stand in silence anywhere if you want quiet, doesn't have to be a dead mall with broken tiles.

Granite Run was always more about the memories than the tiles though.
