I finally bought a $22 headlamp for exploring the old Century III Mall, best money I ever spent
Went to check out Century III Mall near Pittsburgh last month and my phone flashlight died about 20 minutes in. Total darkness in a dead anchor store is no joke, I couldn't see my own feet. Next trip I grabbed a $22 headlamp off Amazon, the kind with the strap, and it changed everything. I could see into the old service halls and read signs on closed storefronts without holding anything. Two other guys I ran into there were using their phones and giving up after one floor. If you're doing this stuff in these big dark buildings, just get a real light, it's cheaper than a broken ankle.
