Found a perfectly preserved arcade in the old Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights
I was poking around the food court level last weekend and turned a corner into what felt like a time capsule. The 'Galaxy Quest' arcade still had all its machines lined up, covered in dust but with the power lights still faintly glowing. I swear I could almost hear the beeps and coins dropping from twenty years ago. Has anyone else found a spot in a dead mall that just stopped completely?

My uncle used to manage a bowling alley that had a tiny arcade corner with a single, ancient Ms. Pac-Man cabinet. The place got sold and turned into a self-storage place, but they just walled off the lanes and left everything else. We snuck in once and the scoreboard was still on, frozen at someone's 187 from 1998. The air smelled like stale popcorn and lane wax. It was spooky, but also kind of perfect.
